I bought and paid for the full app of the Davis Drug Guide 12th ed., as I am a nursing instructor in a 4 year BSN program and I use it to assist me and my students in giving medications safely in Term 8 of our nursing program.I chose this app because I used to buy the paperback book of the drug guide yearly and using this app has proven to be a better option for nursing students and instructors to carry in their pockets on an iTouch, iPhone. I enjoy products from Unbound Medicine and hope they develop an app for psychiatric mental health nursing soon to include psychopharmacology for use by nursing faculty and nursing students in future.
This is all an RN or nursing student needs as a reference for safely administering medications. I was hesitant about spending so much on an app, but have absolutely no regrets. This reference will make you WANT to look up meds that youre unfamiliar with, making your practice safer and widening your pharmacology knowledge. In seconds you can have all the information that would normally take 5 or 10 minutes to look up... assuming you could find a hard copy of a drug guide on your unit that isnt mangled! This app can go anywhere I need to be and is a widely trusted name in out profession. As a Canadian military RN I could not ask for a more comprehensive bedside reference.
Great source, very handy.
As a students I cant go to clinical without this. Its quick, easy to look up medication on the spot. Approved by all professors and clinical instructors
Its a very good data base. Easily accessed
Miconazole (topical) doesnt work... Please look into this?
Good resource, easy to use.
Is handy to use! Awesome job.
Was skeptical about the price but worth it! Very thorough and in depth!
It is a wonderfully thought out app. It would be nice however to be able to re-order your favourites in the favourites section... Thank you for including the various calculators!
I have used this drug guide in the field as a paramedic and as a resource when creating a formulary for my students. I appreciate the IPad and mobile friendly format a great deal.
Pricey but such a great app for pharmacology or just in the clinical /hospital atmosphere
Scant information, poorly organized, spelling errors, limited info on ophthalmic agents... Very disappointed.
I am working a nightshift tonight and I have already used Davis Drug Guide 4 or 5 times. Always new drugs and it does a good job of keeping you up to speed when questions arise
Great resource for nursing students!
Its free because all the important meds are not included. They try to get $40 out of you. Plenty of good drug apps for free. FA Davis has always been a rip-off!!
Great drug reference app! I use it daily in my retail pharmacy practice. Complete with pronunciation, pictures and clear, extensive information. I use a few different references and this is one of the quickest, easiest to use with the most complete drug info and mechanism of action. Worth the small investment.
I love this app, i am a nurse and use this on a daily basis, able to look up duration, normal dose, side effects, etc in a instant. Highly recommend.
I have used this app at my job for years. Totally worth the $. I like this so much more than the information site provided at my various employers.
